The 3 Rotary Clubs preparation for the Spring Fair received a great boost when club representatives received a cheque for £1,000 from the ASDA Foundation.

Allie Scrace, the Community Champion at ASDA’s store in Rugby, said “ASDA has made it our mission to ensure that every ASDA store helps make their local community a better place to live, work and grow up in. So we were delighted to be approached by the Rotary Clubs who do so much to support local community organisations and charities by organising the Spring Fair which is a great family fun event.”

Ken Ure, President of the Rotary Club of Rugby Saturday Breakfast, said “This support ensures that we are able to commit to booking a variety of professional acts to entertain the thousands of people who we expect at the Whitehall Recreation Ground on Monday the 1st of May. We hope to raise over £10,000 for the many charities that Rotary supports and hope that the charities which have stalls at the Fair will raise a similar amount between them.”

Willy Goldschmidt, a member of the organising committee, said “This year we will be introducing some new acts as well as welcoming back some acts which have been very popular in the past. An innovation for this year is that we have decided to offer discounted tickets for the Fair from our ticket sales website.

This gives visitors the opportunity to save 20% or more on the gate prices making the event even better value for those who book in advance. Details of the programme will be published over the coming weeks.”
