The Rotary Club of Rugby Dunsmore recently presented a cheque to David and Angela Head, the founders of the Rugby Area Talent Trust.
One of the first concerts that RATT organised was for the Rotary Spring Fair last May and the 3 organising clubs agreed to donate £500 at that time. Following on from that and the news that RATT is one of the Mayor’s Charities, the Rotary Club of Rugby Dunsmore decided to give the some further support for this great initiative and donated another £500 and has also invited some of the young talent they support to perform at a recent club function.
David Head, Chair at Rugby Area Talent Trust (RATT), said “The donation from Dunsmore Rotary is very welcome indeed. RATT is a young charity with plenty of aspirations, and it is this kind of support that will help us turn those aspirations into reality. The £500 from the Rugby Spring Fair proceeds has contributed to our second tranche of small grants for young people with talent in the town and as a result we are likely to fund two musicians and two sport people who have asked for our support.
“Rugby is a town with plenty of hidden talent, and The Spring Fair and other showcase events that RATT is involved in are great opportunities for us to demonstrate and take pride in that. We look forward to working with the Rotary clubs again at next year’s event. The only thing we’d ask them to do differently this time is to book the sunshine in advance!”

Sue Betts of the Rotary Club of Rugby Saturday Breakfast said “We were delighted to have provided an early platform for RATT last year and are pleased to announce that they will be performing again at this year’s Rotary Spring Fair on the 1st of May. We are keen to hear from other organisations who can bring new acts to the Fair. Please contact us through our website www.rugbyspringfair.co.uk”
