All three Rotary Clubs of Rugby this year are working together in organising this year's Spring Fair.
The three Rugby Rotary Club presidents got together in January 2015 and agreed join forces to run the fair in May.
Since then a group of 30 volunteers have been beavering away to organise the 37th Annual Spring Fair. They are confident that this year’s event will be more successful than last year when they raised over £13,000 for local, national and international charities.
At a recent meeting where the Mayor was present with all three Presidents, the Mayor of Rugby Mr. Ramesh Srivastava said "I’m delighted to be part of this year’s Rugby’s 2015 Spring Fair, both as Mayor and as a long-time member of the Rugby Dunsmore Rotary Club. Anyone who came last year will tell you what an excellent event this is for all the family. It’s also an outstanding example of community partnership, with so many Rugby charities pulling together, led by the Rotary clubs. I hope those people who will be attending will take a moment to talk to Rotary and other charity representatives about the important work they do and perhaps find out a bit more about how they can get involved."
The Rugby Spring Fair is a major family fun day and has been one of the largest social events held annually in the town for the last 37 years, with regular attendances of up to 10,000 people of all ages.
In 2015 once again it was held on the Whitehall Recreation Ground, Hillmorton Rd. There was a full Fair Ground, two arenas, many local charity stalls, specialist stalls, food stalls, and plenty of opportunity for family fun. The entertainment in the main arenas was provided by dance, martial arts, dog training, Birds of prey and other new groups displaying their skills as well as a separate Circus act training area.
